The Observatory for Monitoring Takfiri Fatwas and Extremist Ideologies at Egypt's Dar al-Ifta praised the call of Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop a code of conduct for visual and digital media to combat hate speech and confirm the role of Egypt's religious institutions, i.e. the noble Azhar and Egypt's Dar al-Ifta, in combating radicalism.

A high-level delegation from Egypt, headed by the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, participated in a working group on the communication and media strategy of the international alliance against Daesh, held in Washington on Friday, July 27. Abu Zeid confirmed in his speech that there is no way to eradicate Daesh and other similar organizations except by confronting all forms of hate speech and draining its sources whatsoever.
